Chapter 78 Mold Program rules and regulations have been reviewed and adopted as is under the 4-year Rule Review standards.  The commission made note of the many public comments received during the "Intent to Review' open period as well as the comments received during the meeting.  The Chairman Figueroa has asked for a full summary of industry comments received and review of comments.  Commissioner Callier has indicated specific interest in the program and the summary.  Comments were made that no advisory board is in place at this time. 

Public Comments at the meeting in regards to the mold program were given by:

Kevin Pearson - IICRC - spoke regarding the training to adopt requirement for IICRC Certification with S520 requirements

Craig Bennett - Commented on regulations regarding testing and MACs stepping outside field of expertise to comment on building standards/codes, HVAC standards/codes and other items 

Kim Altsuler - Lawyer - comment on standardizing methodology for testing requirements rather than the current statute to test by 'nationally recognized methods'

Mike Marshall - representative of TMARA - comments on the results from Governor's Declaration's impact on industry after Hurricane Harvey and the meetings and results from Winter Storm Uri. Offered the continued support of TMARA to review and provide industry comment on proposed regulation changes
